The Civil, Structural and Environmental Engineering department at SUNY Buffalo focuses on the research of earthquakes, the Great Lakes, transportation systems modeling & simulation and submicron-scale damage mechanics. They study gridlock, structural engineering, solid & fluid mechanics, and more. But the really cool thing is that have big rooms where they shake model bridges and buildings until they go boom! :)
